Helen Omolo
,
who recently spoke (9/15/07 worship service) to RICSF on the topic of
Christian Ethics and Principles,
was asked to share some of the highlights of her talk so that we could publish them on this website. Here they are! It is our hope that they bless you in the written word as they did for us who heard her speak! My Mate His character will be my newspaper to read (not frivolous reading material); his face, the movie I watch (and not soaps, etc on TV); his voice, the music I will listen to (not rhythm and blues, rock or jazz); my dinner/lunch/breakfast partner – trained to eat the food I cook and not restaurant meals cooked by other women/men. The relationship is about us as a family and not about ‘them’ - out there. Our Character He and I will develop a character patterned after the similitude of Jesus. Good character does not age and it sells anywhere/everywhere. We lose material things, we age, we die but not our character – it is the only attribute we carry through eternity. My Prayer Lord show me who I really am: What You see in my character; what You hear when I speak. I want to hear things through Your ears, see things through Your eyes, and speak words that only You order.
I long for that day when I shall graduate into the school above and hear my Saviour, pronounce in a melodious voice, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.” Back |
